Camouflage

Wednesday, 17 October 2012

What I love most about thrift shopping is that, you can find a lot of unique items, like this camouflage jacket I'm wearing. I got this months ago for only 200 pesos. Some people are really complimenting it and a friend even thought that I got it from Zara (Har har). But I'm always proud to say that I got it sa ukay! This proves that you don't always need expensive stuff to look your best! It's all about Mix and Matching.

I already wore this jacket twice. First was when I attended the Miss Selfridge opening few months ago, which my friends and I won as a best-dressed! And just recently to the First ever Topman Fashion Friday. I really like mixing green and blue with a hints of brown.
What an awkward pose! Haha! It was so hot when my sister took these photos!

What do you think about it? Comments? Thoughts? ;)

The Comeback

Tuesday, 16 October 2012

Starting today, I'm breaking my long hiatus! Hooray! I know, this blog has been dead for almost 4 months!! There are a lot of reasons why- first, I was hospitalized for almost 3 weeks and I had undergone a surgery but what important is, I'm okay now! And I was also swamped with a lot of school work- shoot here, there and everywhere because I'm already graduating!*Crossing my Fingers* And I just ended my internship at Esquire last month. So blogging wasn't my top priority. But since it's already the start of my semestral break, it's the perfect time to be back as blogger.

Preppy look for my first comeback outfit, I decided to wear this pink MEMO polo with my TOPMAN blue chinos because I think it goes well together and it looks more relaxed and playful compared to the usual white top paired with black pants. And I couldn't imagine this look if I didn't pair it with my Lolo's hand-me-down shoes! This is vintage, man!

Can I just share that I lost almost 20lbs!

I wore this yesterday for the last day of classes! Just pigged-out with my friends after and went home right away because we had no sleep.

Thanks to my friend, Nina for taking my outfit photos! You could follow her on instagram- @ninadelosreyes

She's wearing; Zara shirt, Forever 21 skirt and Topshop studded flats.

So this is just the start, stay tuned for more because I will try my best to update this blog everyday. Cheers! The Dandy Ayds.

A Tribute to my Dad

Sunday, 17 June 2012

First, I would like to greet my dad a Happy Father's day! We are so lucky and happy to have you as our dad. Thank you so much for everything. I really couldn't  imagine life without you and mom. I can't wait to see you soon. Love you, dad!

This look was a tribute for him. The denim polo, jacket and shoes were all from his closet. I think this Maui and Sons jacket is older than me haha. What I like most about it is that; it's denim at the same time it's Letterman. Denim on Denim look for today. Also, those shoes are my favorite. I don't usually wear those because I'm saving it for special occasions. I celebrated by watching Kimmy Dora (such a fun movie btw) after pigging out with family! These photos are taken at ATC.

I bought this wayfarers right away when I saw it in Pop Culture! Camouflage is really "in" this season!

And I'm your The Daddy Ayds for today... Haahaha! Happy Father's day to your dads! How did you celebrate? Let's all have a good and productive week ahead!

Where's the Bow Tie?

Tuesday, 5 June 2012

I think on this picture it's so obvious that I'm sweating like hell haha! This would be my favorite among the three looks for Garage! For me, it is the Epitome of The Dandy Ayds. But I've missed the most important thing on the look... the Bow Tie! Gaaaahd

Don't forget to grab a copy of Garage-June issue!

Mixing Patterns

Monday, 28 May 2012

Last Friday, I went to SMX for the Philippine Fashion Week's OXYGEN Holiday 2012 show. That was actually the only show I've seen this season, and I must say the collection was SICK (More of that on my next post!).

Girls didn't really mind lining up wearing those killer heels just to have a good seat. It is called love for FASHION lol. Effort!!

How to stand out from the rest? Instead of the usual plain x printed why not try the print-on-print look?  There are actually so many ways to do print. I paired it with my khaki chinos because everything was dark already.

I'm actually having a hard time explaining my outfit haha. Because sometimes I think I'm not in the authority to say what to wear or not. This is just my opinion and just giving you some quick tips.  Feeling expert lol

After all, we should appear stylish without looking like we tried too hard.
What can you say about my look? Yay or Nay? Tweet me! Haha

Thrifted shirt, Forever 21 cardigan, SM Accessories belt and socks, Sperry top-siders

Bag from Topman

I actually got interviewed by the people from GMA  7 for Jessica Soho show while lining up for the Oxygen show. It was soo awkward! Haha! I hope they won't air it though.

Anyway, I'm making the most out of my summer vacation while working. As what I always say, when you’re enjoying yourself, it won’t feel like work. x

OMBRE

Sunday, 6 May 2012

Ombre shirts are really one of this summer's hottest trends.. There is just something fascinating about the gradual color change from light to dark.

Thrifted denim button up, Topman trousers and socks, Wade Brogues

This is my outfit for today when we attended the mass, and went to Makati after with family. I was really bored yesterday, and got so inspired with this D-I-Y Ombre shirt (link)! so I decided to do my own. I bought this denim polo in a thrift store for only 60php, then Zonrox, plus hot water, then, voilà!  = Instant Ombre shirt! I'm definitively doing this again! ;)
Good thing, my new blue trousers complemented my "OMBRE" look! These aztec socks are also my favorite! It can easily spice up an outfit. Don't you think?  Thank you to my sisters for taking these photos!

Have a great & productive week! TDA

Houdini

Thursday, 3 May 2012

I still have a hang-over from my RSSI Internship. My mind, body, soul, and heart (drama lol) miss it everyday. I really had a blast. Isn't obvious? My blog contains mostly about RSSI League of Fashion. I think it's never-ending. Haha! Cool experience, eh?
Pang cover-photo on facebook? Ha ha

This is the video that we did a few weeks ago. See the BTS pictures here. I've seen this video for like a hundred times already but I never get tired watching it. It shows on the video that we are just having fun despite the super hot weather!
 Here is it! Enjoy!

The Sales Associate

Sunday, 29 April 2012

(April 10-27,2012) I've been blogging about this internship since day 1, because it was just too awesome not to blog! Everyday was such a wonderful experience for me. Out of so many people who applied, I was chosen to be one of the 15 interns who got accepted. I'm just so ecstatic about it! I joined the program because I wanted to know more about fashion retailing and wanted to meet a lot of new friends.
I was first assigned in Ben Sherman! The store who has the best interior design. And they have their own WiFi! coolio.

Being vain when there was no customer. Haha

Then Warehouse

The Pretty Mannequins of Topshop-Shangrila. I just forgot their names. :S Yes, they have names. lol

I was also assigned in Topman Galleria, I experienced customers who fits a lot of stuff but never buy anything (now I know how it feels to be on a seller's shoes) and the customers who never greets back. (Guys, please greet them back or just smile at them.) =)

The big stockroom (sorry not so obvious haha) of Topman/Topshop in Galleria. My dream closet! lol

I got this Aztec socks for winning the Mood Board challenge last orientation! Super nice!

MANNEQUIN STYLING

BEN SHERMAN

Ben Sherman is all about being classic.

WAREHOUSE

TOPMAN

My favorite of them all... This is inspired by their Santa Fe trend. A look inspired by the thriving surf scene of the early 1970’s and the transient surfers and skaters of West Coast of America who scaled the coast searching for waves and work.

They actually change what the mannequins are wearing every week. They really follow the international retail standards. From store displays, lay-out, have to be the same as the ones in London. Even their music and hangers have to be placed exactly what they are instructed to.

On our last day, we went store hopping!

The Shangrila team: Chari from Ateneo with her lovey Diego, and Janine from ICA. Pretty girls, indeed!

Ate Tala and Kuya Melvin of Ben Sherman! They're so fun to be with!

Janine and I with the Store Supervisor and Store Manager of Topshop-Shang!

The friendly staff of Topshop!

and Warehouse!
One of the perks of this internship is that you could meet a lot of people from the fashion industry. Like stylists from different publications and even celebrities. Here's Angel Jacob looking so posh!

with Ben Sherman's store manager, Sir Val. I will definitely miss going to Edsa Shangrila everyday!

"Good Afternoon, welcome to ____" I would definitely miss saying that to every customer who enters the store. Being a sales associate or the so called salesman is not a joke. Standing for long straight hours and assisting different kinds of customers. My respect for them went up.  The experience was so humbling and it taught me a lot of things. Now, I would be very friendly to the one who's assisting me whenever I shop.

Thank you so much Robinsons Specialty Stores, Inc. for this best summer experience!
